Colour picker giving hsv value

Hello,

When I select a colour with the colour picker, I get an hsv value (I need it to be rgb). Using a swatch is fine, I get an rgb value from that - see screen grabs attached.

Is this a bug, or is there a configuration somewhere to force the colour picker to give an hsv value?

Hi Rich,

There should be an option for the color picker field to choose from preferred formatting. If you allow transparency though, I think it will automatically go hsv? Did you try different settings when creating the Block? If so, send me the config.json contents (as a .txt file) here, so I can load that in and play with that.

Hey Ramon - Thank you for responding so quickly. I have attached the json here as a txt file.

Just to confirm a couple of things to hopefully help:
- I hadn't selected the 'Preferred format', so as to allow both hex and rgb inputs. I'd left this set to 'None'.
- I hadn't selected 'Allow alpha transparency selection'.
- When I first go to select a colour via the picker, it gives an hsv value, unless I use one of the swatches at the top of the panel, then that does give an rgb value. Once I have an rgb value added into the text field, then using the colour picker will update the text field with an rgb value - So, it is just the initial first colour selection via the picker where I have the problem. I hope that makes sense!

Hi Rich,

Sorry for the late reply! Had a couple of things going on over here, so hadn't got the time to do so. My bad.

As for the formatting, apparently it's within the Colorpicker (jQuery) to give preference over HSV. So if you set the preferred to RGB, it will take RGB. Whenever you want to enter a hex color (like #ccc), it will automatically convert to the RGB value for you (so you can still enter it). It's not that these things arent'allowed, it will just convert it for you instead.

If you want to make a quick edit, go to your form.php file and search for "preferredFormat". You can change the value that is set there to "rgb" (string value). I think that's how you'd wan it to be.
