Blog buttons
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Dear C5DK blog developers-
We would love to have your help with the blog buttons design, and we are happy to pay for this support. We have a very minimalist design. Is there any possibility we might be able to generate the blog button following the design attached? Preferably there would be no border around the whole grouping, and also the background would be transparent to allow the page background to show through.
Thanks for developing this excellent blogging platform. We really appreciate the multi-user functionality.

Here it is (templates.zip - attached)
Simply unpack this zip file and copy the "templates" folder to /packages/c5dk_blog/blocks/c5dk_blog_buttons
And chose it as a template for the block by clicking the block and chose "Design & Custom Template". Here you simply chose the "C5dk Simple One" template
Save and you are done!

Wow! That was fantastically fast! It is really close. Here's a screen shot of how it comes out. I think we can actually get rid of the whole "Blog Editor Control" title, since it is self-evident from the buttons.
And if we can make these borders and text thinner it would be great, 1 pixel for the border, and the text in the light weight of Helvetica. It can also be much smaller, maybe half this size and still be quite readable, don't you think! I love how this looks. I think others might like it too!
I will be giving you a very glowing review shortly. You have amazed me with this support! By the way, I think the installation and setup videos are charming and make things much easier.
Thank you!

Added a second template to the attached zip file "c5dk_simple_two"
Just copy it as explained above...

This is absolutely phenomenal. Look how fantastic this looks! I am so grateful for your time and effort on this. It is a wonderful service. Thank you so much!
One small thing I noticed. The date and time of the blog posts seem to be for your time zone. Can you advise me how to change it?
I need to know in witch block you see the wrong date format!
Normally all date formats are controlled by the language in witch you have sat up concrete5, so it is necessary for me to know where you see the problem!

I felt free to try out the clean and simple buttons and I hope I might use them too ??
Great work because how they look now is fitting with my site atmosphere too, and even if only the author only sees it, that makes the use and the energy better to work with it ....
Thanks a lot Michael.

Hi
I have read the info about the buttons and it is very useful.
I have two additional questions
1.
about the view of the blog button: the button which is showing the author's name, the time and date. On my website the view of the blog button is at the page list different than on the blog post itself ..
Can I adjust that somewhere ? That they are looking the same?
2. Can I change or adjust the presentation of the blog button and the header in the post itself ? Or can you give information which type of text you use ? h1/h2/ etc etc
I would like to make the header of the post in the pagelist a little bit more bigger and bolder.
Thanks
Stefan.

You are talking about the header block.
We simply made this block to be able to show the fullname attribute and to formate the time more blog like.
What you are telling me here, might make us do a new template for the header block.
Your second question - I think you talk about the page list template - correct me if i'm wrong...
We haven't done any styling on this, mostly because we do not have any idea how it would look like on all the different themes out there - it's more like a starting point for you to make your own templates. But I see the problem if you are not a programmer. I'll make sure that we have a discussion about this here at the office, and we might implement something in the package that would make this a little easier!
This takes a little time, so please have some patience!

We had a discussion about this, and it seem that there is a way to make these styling settings for the header block and the page list template. It will take time to do this because it's a fairly big addition to the package. So please be patience...
We are in the middle of designing the next major version. We need more time for this, because we need to be able to be compatible with the next major concrete5 version (version 5.8)...
So I can't promise a time frame for these ideas and changes at the moment!

It is not our package that show the date, that is the core function "getCollectionDatePublic()" that handles this.
There is 2 solutions.
1. You try to figure out haw to make templates for blocks your self. It is not that difficult. You will find a lot of examples searching the forum.
2. We will think something up. But that will take some time!

This is fantastic! I love the new page list template. Thank you so much for making such a speedy update! I'm so excited to add more blogs to our site for our different user groups. We will launch in June. Thanks of all you've done to make this a superb add-on!
dear appamada,
do you mean the new page list template where the whole post is showed?
