Blog Post Page Not Found
Permalink Browser Info Environment
I have followed the video tutorials to the letter (I think), but when I press the "Blog Editor Control, New Post" button I get a "page not found" error. (The url of the missing page comes up as "…/concrete5.7.5.2/blog_post/create/1".)
What am I doing wrong?

Hi Dushka,
We just tested this and we can't reproduce the error.
Actually, I do not understand how you would get this error. So if you could PM us login information to your site, we would be able to investigate your situation.

Hello, Michael. Would it possibly be happening because I am doing this on localhost? I have attached a screen grab.
I would be happy to give you access to my PC if necessary, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this.
Thanks,
Rod (Dushka)

Hi Dushka,
Your "Screen Grap" did not go through.
About connection to your PC... I will try to set something up. For this kind of support, we will need your "Skype" account (send in a PM). We will use TeamViewer to assist you. But let's get connected by Skype first.
I know the big time difference so just wait for me to finish up something here (it will probably be sometime tomorrow...

Many thanks for your amazing offer, Michael. Please give me a day or two to see if I can get it working on a live site I have started to build. I'll get back to you.
Cheers,
Rod

O.K. Thank you Michael for your amazing support.
For those interested, the problem appears to have been related to some faulty coding in the very first release of 5.7.5.4. After that was fixed, we uninstalled C5dk Blog, reinstalled it, and all seems to be well.

Hi
We are running:
# concrete5 Version
Core Version - 5.7.5.6
Version Installed - 5.7.5.6
Database Version - 20151221000000
# concrete5 Packages
Breadcrumb Trail Page Links (1.1), C5DK Blog (1.2), Cloneamental (0.9.2), Crimson (1.1.3)
This is a new install.
We are running into the same error in which clicking on the “New Post” button directs us to:
https://berrp.ucdavis.edu/index.php/blog_post/create/224/224...
with the error message:
Page Not Found
Through the Composer interface, I was able to add a page:
https://berrp.ucdavis.edu/index.php/forum/discussion/test...
However, if I try to “Add Message” from this page, it returns the following error:
Invalid Block Object.
Invalid Page.
Note that this blog was setup as Admin and not superuser.
Thoughts?
Thanks for the excellent tutorials and help.

I think all problem with safari.
I'm having this issue as well. I have provided more information in a PM to you.
Ahhh, now I understand. It's about the core conversation block...
If I'm correct, you have put the conversation block in to a stack (as explained in the video doc). on the same page where you find the video (http://addons.concrete5.dk/en/add-documentation/c5dk-blog/setting-b... ), you will also find a note written in red text that says:
Note: We have found a problem with having the "core conversation block" in a stack. It will not work. You have to add the conversation block directly to the page type default page to make it work. This has been tested in concrete5 version 5.7.5.3, and a bug report has been submitted on concrete5.org
So you have to remove the conversation block from the stack and add it to the default page type directly.
Sorry if that was not so clear...

That actually ended up not being the issue since I am not using the core conversation block... it's actually because I am a little more special than that. I forgot a / when adding the new canonical location for the specific blog I was trying to post to.
Hi,
And thank you Michael for your help in trouble shooting our problem.
To close this thread, the problems were due to user error:
- the C5DK blog needs a page called Blog Post which you should be able to find in your Sitemap. This page had been deleted. Reinstalling the C5DG blog restored the page and preserved most of our previous work.
- the Invalid Block Object error was due to adding the C5DK Footer block to the Page Type. As the instructions on the tutorial page indicate, do NOT add the C5DK Footer block to your C5DK Blog English Page. Instead, in Page Edit mode, drag-drop the Conversation block into the footer area.
Thanks again Michael. Looking forward to seeing what some of your products in the pipeline will do for us!

Hi.
Just to remove the confusion and correct Lorraine...
The C5DK Blog package installs a "Single Page" called "Blog Post" (url - blog_post). You will see this page in your sitemap. This page is the foundation of the blog package, and by that - DO NOT DELETE THIS PAGE!
Secondly as you create your blog page type standard page type, we did describe in our documentation videos that you could add the core conversation block in the footer area of the page through a stack. That can not be done. You have to add the core conversation block directly to your blog page type default page. This is because the core conversation block will not work inside a stack.
All other blocks you deside to use on your blog page, do not have problems with stacks. And we encourage you to use stacks when adding functionality blocks to your blog page. This will give you a lot of flexibility and you will be able add and change blocks and there position on the blog page in the future just by changing the stacks (DO NEVER DELETE THE STACKS ONLY THE CONTENT OF THE STACK SHOULD BE EDITED).
And Lorraine, because of me poking around your site last night, I forgot to put the "C5DK Blog Button" and the "C5DK Go Back Button" back in to the stack, you should do that now and remove the 2 blocks we inserted directly on the default page type for the blog page.
I am closing this support ticket now and would like you to open new tickets if any problems in the future!
BTW... Any reviews would be appreciated...
/Michael

As I can see, you have your site in a subdirectory (not sub domain). I need to make a change in the code for this. But I need to test if this conflicts with other scenarios.
I'll get back to you on this shortly!
Sorry for the inconvenience!
/Michael
