Posting Blog not working

I'm at a loss. I haven't touched C5DK blog for a year or more as I am in the throes of designing my site. Today I decided to get back into it (I am running Version 8.4.0). However, I am stuck. I'm fairly confident that my settings are correct and that the page types are set up properly. All the buttons appear as they should but when I click to post a new blog, the progress circles goes around and around eternally. The only way I can get back to normal is to refresh the page and then hit Cancel.
I have an old blog that I successfully posted many months ago, but when I try to Edit and re-post it, exactly the same thing happens.
If you have any ideas as to what could be wrong I would be very grateful.
If I can't get it sorted out I will have no option but to reinstall and start all over again and hope that helps.

I decided to reinstall. Still the same problem. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that I upgraded to Concrete5.8.4. As you mention in your Versions documentation, it's hard to keep up with the changes in the Concrete core. I do sympathize, and am happy to wait. But then I get this niggling feeling that I may have done something wrong in setting it up. I think I'll go have a beer.
I would really like to see inside your site (as admin). Could you supply me with admin credentials by sending as PM (Private Message)?

I just had a short look. It seem that your site has multiple problems. First of all, I would like to set Pretty URL's, but concrete5 can't seem to detect your server kind. And by that it is not able to create the appropriate .httacces file. To be able to make concrete5 work correctly I would like to have access to FTP on your site.

OK, I had a look in your folder structure and file structure by FTP. I have a hard time to find out how it routes your site. I have found the .htaccess file and it looks OK, but it does not seem to be read when entering your site.
Said in another way... I have a hard time to find the logic in your site/server setup. There is defiantly something wrong.
Also, when I try to replicate your problem with our blog package, I see a few 500 errors on your server. That tells me that something is wrong in your server settings. I would appreciate if you talked with your hosting provider to fix the server/site settings before we do anything further from here.

Could you please try to upgrade the C5DK blog package to latest version (8.4.3). I would like to hear if this solves your problem.
