ProBlog List View vs C5DK
Permalink Browser Info Environment
I am developing a new site and I am currently using ProBlog. This is a School District Website and we have 30 Blogs on this site. The actual blog page is hardly used, the web authors use the blog to post to the blog page, but it is the Blog List View that is utilized on each School Page as basically an announcement section.
Is this something that I can accomplish with your addon?

I have successfully installed the blog but would LOVE if List view could pull multiple topics, not just one.
Hi,
Thanks for buying our package.
I'm not sure I understand your problem. All Page List functionality and Topic functionality is standard concrete5 core functionality. So please explain in detail what you are thinking about.
We are always interested in new ideas, but I can't promise anything because the Topic system is very deep integrated in the core. But please write a detailed description of your idea so we can see if it can be done.

I have 30 schools that all have their own announcements as well as announcements from the district.
Each school has the Blog List on their page which displays their posts as well as the district posts.
ProBlog was able to have multiple Categories Selected when posting that way it populated in multiple areas. (see attachment)
If either PageList would allow multiple Topics or C5DK made their own PageList Like ProBlog, that would solve my problem and maybe others?

Hi,
I'm still not sure what is the problem. Concrete5 7.x and 8.x is fully capable of using multiply chosen topics in a blog page. And the page list block can filter by topic with no problem. You can even use the topic list to filter the page list on the fly. The page list has a lot of different filtering options, and what you are saying, I think is within these functionalities.
We can't and will not make our own page list because the one in the core fully supply us with the functionality we expect. And if we did make such a block, I'm actually not sure what to add in to it.
I think if you began to play around with topics, topic list and the page list you wil find it very flexible.
And last, we will never go down the track and make a new Pro Blog package - You probably seen what happened to Pro Blog and we would not like to end up like that.
Hope you understand.

play around with topics, - Is this your professional advice? Thanks for the snarky responses and zero help.
Hi,
I'm sorry that you took my answer offensive. That was not intended!
I see that you are discussing the same issue on:
https://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/customizing_c5/how-to-pag...
And we have now made some extensive testing and see that the issue is correct (you are unable to select multiply topics filtering in the Page List).
We have just tested this in concrete5 8.2b2 and that is still not possible.
I would suggest you to make an issue on GitHub (https://github.com/concrete5/concrete5/issues) where you can make the core team aware of the problem.
I know that you sugested that we should make a new "Page List" block, but that is not as easy as you think. We would probably also need to make a totally new topic system because the topic system is highly integrated in the core and by that also in the page list.
The best solution for you right now would be to write up an issue on GitHub.

I decided to help you out on GitHub and reported the issue.
If you could comment onhttps://github.com/concrete5/concrete5/issues/5544...
It would pull more weight and maybe be taken serious faster!

The old site was running on an older version of Concrete and ProBlog is no longer supported.
I have purchased C5DK already.
