categories and attributes broken on concrete version 8.x.x
Permalink Browser Info Environment
I experience two problems with this further excellent add-on;
1. There are no categories showing and/or able to select
When adding an event, there are no categories to choose from, this whole tab is a blank tab. Trying to get the categories to show i went into dashboard/calendar/attributes. Under 'Categories' no attributes are listed, under 'Other' the topic atribute is listed.
I click 'manage sets', click on 'categories en check the box next to 'topics calendar_topics' to attach the topics to this set. But on saving this error appears:
Problem 2 is about the custom attributes:
I can create a custom attribute in /dashboard/calendar/attributes without any problem, also attach it to the Categorie set while there. I am also able to fill in the attribute when adding an event now. But: After doing so, i cannot edit any existing events anymore. Plus when clicking the newly created event in a calendar view, an error displays:
'The content could not be loaded.
Can you please look into this? Those errors make the add-on pretty useless on version 8 :-(

I have replicated both of your issues. Being able to use categories is a must for my application. Hopefully this issue can get resolved quickly.
I have also had the same issue.
This support request is from 9 days ago. Can the developer please take a look, the add-on is useless right now.

No, do not archive. This issue is not gone, not even looked into yet!
Is there any support on this add-on?
Can someone Please look into this problem? It is making the add-on useless for almost all users...

Is the developer of this actually monitoring? After spending money for this module I'm a bit disappointed by the support. Until it is fixed it is basically useless. Makes me wonder why I started to develop with Concrete5...I think I'll stick with Drupal and WordPress.
Concrete5 is an awesome cms to work with! Something went wrong with those support requests. Frz has made a new support request in the right system now. A little bit patience and it will work.
Hi Everyone,
This is a core bug that we've fixed in the current develop branch in github. For now, the best way to make this start working before the next release would be to apply this patch manually to your concrete5 core:
https://github.com/concrete5/concrete5/commit/0420ef0871cf344f234e17...
Best wishes,
Korvin

Hi Korvin,
Thanks for taking action on this bug, but it doesn’t solve the problem with the calendar add-on.
Now i can attach the calendar topics to the calendar categories and save this. So that part is solved.
But when going back to the calendar add-on and make a new event i cannot save the event. On save i get this error:
Invalid argument supplied for foreach()
Also when clicking an existing event to edit, there is a neverending loading bar. The screen to edit never comes up. So basically the add-on has become even more unusable with those core edits...
Please a follow up to solve things?
Cheers,
Maura

Pfiew, still no luck... i can attach categories now and create new events with categories attached to them. But after creating i cannot edit them anymore. Still getting the never ending load bar on top of the popup screen.
But the error is gone... nothing is displayed, just the never ending loadingbar.
Almost there i guess, can you please help again?

The same here. I cannot edit the event anymore after select a Category.
Hi Korvin
Do you have a timeplan for the next release. The addon is not working for us on 8.1. We have to look for an alternative. Works really well on 5.7.
We have the same issues and can not edit things after creating them.
We need this for 5 websites and planned to buy a 5pack of this addon.
Thanks for helping!
best regards, Roland

I've released a new version of calendar this morning that addresses this issue.
