Pushover Setup

Website visitors use the front end form to enter either their phone number or email address, along with an optional short message. The form uses Pushover to notify you (or anyone you specify) of the request on your desktop, Android device, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Pebble, Android Wear, or Apple watch. You can then either call or email the website visitor back at your own convenience.

You must create a user account on pushover.net to use the Call Me block. When adding the Call Me block to your page, you will need to paste in your Pushover User Key and API Key/Token.

Pushover costs $4.99 USD once, per-platform (iOS, Android, Desktop), to use on as many of your own compatible devices on that platform as you want. There are no monthly or yearly fees.

Finding Your Pushover User Key:

Once logged in to pushover.net, on the home page, find your User Key top right. Copy and paste the user key into the appropriate field when adding the Call Me block to your webpage.

Getting Your Pushover API Key/Token:

To get an API key, you must register an application with Pushover. Further down the Pushover.net homepage (when logged in), you will see a section called "Your Applications" with a link to "Register an Application". Follow the simple process of registering an application and you will receive an API Token/Key. You really only need to enter any application name of your choice and accept the terms, all other fields are not mandatory.

Each application registered to send Pushover notifications may send 7,500 messages per month for free, and extra capacity can be purchased directly through Pushover.

Receiving Messages:

To receive messages to your devices, you will need to add each device to your pushover account. This is also acheived on the Pushover.net home page when logged in.

Pushover requires a working WiFi or cellular data connection to receive notifications. If your device is out of range of a data provider, it will receive all queued up notifications once it establishes a working data connection.

For more advanced usage scenarios, such as sending the same message to multiple people in your business, please set up delivery groups in the bottom section of the logged in Pushover.net home page.
