Hi. Two questions:
1. Is the add-on version 8 compatible?
2. Am I able to add custom fields?
3. if so, are all the usual field types (e.g. checkbox, select list) supported?

Yes it works fine with version 8.
No at the moment you cant add extra fields, there is just an extra field where you can add extra information.
