I'm wondering about file support. Can zip files or music files (mp3s) be used? Or is there a list of file types that can be used or displayed.

This block allows all file types as set by the 'Allowed File Types' options here -www.www.yoursite.com/index.php/dashboard/system/files/filetypes... in your dashboard.

You can of course add new file extensions if you wish.

Basically this block does not limit file types.
