How can I change the transition to a dissolve instead of a slider? I'm guessing it is in the javascript, but I am not seeing it.

Hi.
Actually the plugin is using
http://slidesjs.com/ library that support "fade" and "slide".
To change between you have to edit "view.js" file (inside block folder or
templates/templatename folder) and modify lines
slide = $(this)
.slides(
           {
             preload : true,

adding
preload : true,
             effect: 'fade',
