How To Change FONT COLOR In The Tabs

I am having great difficulty customizing the font color for the titles in the tabs. I thought it would simply be a matter of updating the css file (skin6 in this case), but I continue to get the default blue hyperlink color. I've tried customizing other skins as well... nothing I did worked. My suspicion is that some other class is overiding the hyperlink for the header titles or I'm just not seeing it. I can customize the background color of the tabs, adjust the font-size, but I can't change the font-color.

In the ccs file for the skin you are using change:
.skin1.top .tab_header_item a {
padding: 0px 20px;

color: #333; YOUR COLOR

}
