Problem with Shopping Cart to Check Out to Process Order through Payment Gateway

I get the following error message when trying to process to the payment gateway (PayPal) an order from the shopping cart. It says that "You need to login first in order to proceed" when I click the payment method, which is set up to be PayPal. I want guest to my site to be able to make purchase. The page permissions are set to guest. I checked the product page and the ecommerce express product blocks and those are set to view by guest as well, but the shopping cart to payment gateway doesn't seem to be. Where do I set the changes so that guess can proceed to checkout and PayPal?

Where do you see this error? If you see this error on PayPal it sounds like you are testing using a sandbox mode. In sandbox mode it is required that you are logged-in in PayPal. Try logging-in in Paypal on a different tab on your browser and test this again.

For some reason the error went away. So, problem solved. Wish I knew how. Thx.

Glad that is resolved. I'm guessing you have changed the live mode which is why Paypal isn't asking for you to log in.

Not sure what it was, but I always had PayPal setup for the live mode. It was some sort of conflict with the our site registration process. But, it's fixed. I just need to find out how it happened so I can repair it again, if the problem arises.

If it helps you I found problems with eCommerce sites using www in the domain and the htaccess redirecting to non-www domain. This change would drop cookies and session values.
