suggestions for large quantities of productsBrowser Info Environment
Is there a way to add a lot of products at once, such as csv?
Do you have any suggestions for creating a page list behavior, such as only showing a certain amount of products and then supplying pagination.
If you have _lots_ of products, I'd perhaps hesitate to suggest using Snipcart, as it wasn't really ever envisaged to do such
Although Snipcart itself could hypothetically be used with a big database of products, the add-on I've developed is really just intended for sites/shops where there might be, say, no more than a few dozen or so products, where there isn't the need or desire to have heavy categorisation or sorting. That's why I built it to be block based, so it's very immediate and easy to manage, instead of having it where there is a backend of products.
So at this stage there isn't anything like CSV import for products, or a product list block as the products aren't stored in a way that word support that. It's really just designed to allow you to use pages to do categorisation. Have a look at the pages inhttps://www.mclarenvaleflorist.com.au/... for an example of Snipcart being used this way.
You could achieve some sort of listings by creating 'product' page type, which you could then list using a normal page list block (with pagination, etc). Then on the product pages themselves you'd finally add a Snipcart product block to allow customers to add it to the cart. Again, the idea with this add-on is that you'd more likely have only a few product pages, maybe even directly linked off of the main navigation, so it's not really envisaged that you'd build a larger catalogue site with it out of the box. The Snipcart pricing is also perhaps a little prohibitive on a larger shop, it's really just a low risk way to 'test the waters', where profit margins aren't so much of a concern.
However, if you still want to test it out, I'm happy to supply you with the package for testing purposes, just email [email protected]
