Form Plus doesn't send automatic event notifications several days prior.
Form Plus would be suitable for newsletter subscription if you are using Mailchimp. Re: email capture/file download, you can use Form Plus to present a form to the user with an email input field along with other fields. When the form is submitted, all the details will be captured and the download links can be presented to the user. The links can also be emailed to the user. However it doesn't keep track of the number of downloads. You can integrate newsletter subscription form and the download form into one so that one form does both jobs or have them as 2 separate forms.
