Selectbox width

I have a row with 5 columns; most fields are dropdowns / selectboxes. Why are the boxes not being displayed...unless you click in the area...and even then only shows a partial box until you actually click that box? I want all selectbox fields to be the width of the max characters of the options.

There is no room there for the selectbox.
You could also try other templates.
