Filter the results of the Form View block?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I am working on migrating a site to Concrete 5.8. I used Advanced Forms and Data Display on my old site. I'm looking closely at Formify to see whether I can use it the way I used the old version.

When I used Data Display blocks on my current site, the block has a tab called Filter where I can set search criteria and sort options to narrow down the result set that gets displayed by the block. I don't see that tab in the Formify View block.

Is it possible to pass search and sort criteria into a page that has a Formify View block?

Thanks for any insight,
Sheryl Knox

Hi,
Formify does have a 'sort by' filter but does not have the filter by field that the old data display for C5.6 has. It has some user sort/search features but I have not used them.
Overall formify is somewhat less sophisticated than the old advanced forms/ data display. That said the liquid templates are far better in terms of display so you may be able to use some of those features to create the display of data you want.

Thank you for replying. That is disappointing. I was hoping there was just a different way of doing it that is undocumented. We'll have to find a new solution. The Express objects look promising, but the core block for that does not provide filtering either.

Hi,
Can you give me more detail on the type of form content you have and what variables you want it sorted by and I can see if its possible using liquid templates.
Best
Phil.
