I keep getting a form submission error
Permalink Browser Info Environment
I've just purchased Formify and have created my first form. However, every time I try to submit a test record I get the following error message:
"There was an error submitting this form. Please contact the administrator of this site."
Why might this be happening?

Thanks for your response Phil.
There are no non-standard symbols in my form and, as far as I can see, no entry in the log. I just tried once again to enter a form and the log didn't change.
I am hoping that Justin will be checking the forum soon and have an answer. I deliberately worded my question "Why might this be happening?" because I suspect that it might not be a bug in his add-on but, rather, a problem with the installation of Concrete5 on my host's server (an issue with the access permissions?).
I was using the built-in forms which works most of the time but some people keep getting "Oops, something is wrong with the form you posted (it doesn't have a question set id)."
Sigh . . .

Hi Wayne,
If you use the inspect element in the browser is it showing any specific errors there? Also
just looking at your environment variables it might be a good idea to increase your maximum execution time.
Yours is
max_execution_time - 30
I would increase it to 180 or higher

Hi again Phil,
I've used Inspect Element (see attached screen grab) but I can't see anything useful (perhaps you can).
Where can I change the max_execution_time setting?

Hi Wayne,
To change execution time
add the following line to the .htaccess file for the web sitre
php_value max_execution_time 300
Save the changes to the .htaccess file
To verify that the new setting is active, you create a PHP test file that contains the following code in the same directory where the .htaccess file is located:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
Load the test file in your web browser, and then search for the name of the directive. The Local Value column should display the new setting that you specified in the .htaccess file.
If this does not work and sometimes it doesn't depending on your hosting environment contact your web host for help.
Best

This can often happen if you have a non-standard symbol in your form somewhere.
Also when this happens sometimes the form is actually saved to the database - is that the case. Are you seeing any error messages in the C5 log?
