Centering images.

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi, if I create the standard 'content' block and add an image I can centre it using the normal alignment buttons.
If I add the same content using one of the Formigo Containers they seem to ignore this and always left align the image.
How can I centre the image?

Hi. Would you be able to send us a URL to your site and point out where you mean, this will help us identify the problem.

Thanks
Andy

Hi sure,

try this.
http://www.worldofward.com/rotarycontroller/manual/main-menu/divisi...

The 'LCD' screens are supposed to be centred on the page (I looked at the generated script and they look as though they should be).
If I cut and paste the content into the normal content blocks they are indeed centred.
Note I've placed the graphics inside a table to prevent the content from wrapping around them, although even if I simply place a graphic on it's own in an empty content block it won't centre.

(P.S. I'm winging it, I have almost no web experience at all... ;-)

Steve.

As an aside, is there any way to use the container classes you provide for other than content? (i.e. nav bars etc).

Thanks Steve,

I have just been taking a look at this and can see the problem.

The container has a class set that floats images to the left, this is used for the images you add from the container interface but is also overwriting the one added from the 'content' section. You could implement a fix here.

Assuming you have the package installed in to the root folder of your web install; you should locate a file called 'view.css' which you will find here 'packages > formigo_containers > blocks > formigo_containers > templates > shadow_right > view.css'. In this file on line 22 there is the following code...

float: left;

Remove this and save the file.

This should now honour any placements you make in this way. I would consider removing all of the content in tabular form and re-doing as plain text. You should be OK then.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi Andy, I'm looking through the file hierarchy but can't see a folder 'formigo_containers' (certainly not in packages - there are other 'add-ons' in there though).
The containers came as part of the theme I bought, is it likely they'd exist elsewhere?

How did you add the package to your site, was it through the marketplace?

The files should have been added there? It will be in the 'Morph' folder if you can find that, here 'packages > morph > blocks > formigo_containers > templates > shadow_right > view.css'.

Sorry, as the support came through the forum and not the 'Morph' support section it was impossible for us to tell it was with a theme and not a stand alone add-on.

Thanks

Andy

I find the marketplace a bit confusing, I purchased it by clicking on 'buy now' on the C5 website whilst logged in...
Some of the add-ons seem to have an 'assign license' button, others (including the morph theme) only had a download option... (So I downloaded it and followed the instructions in the txt file - which worked flawlessly btw).

However, it's where you said. Thanks for that!

That is strange, I would have thought you could assign the license there too, not very helpful if you can only download it. might speak to C5 about that.

Glad you found it anyway.

OK, it seems to ignore the changes if the image is in a table (it fixes it if the image is stand alone).
What I can't do is remove the table, if I do this the text flows around the image (which stays left aligned) and I haven't been able to stop it doing this. Removing the text allows the image to float into the centre...

Is there anything that overrides the contents of the table??

Regards the license thing. I must confess to not understanding what it's up to. Looking at my 'licenses' for Morph I have '1 available license' but no option to assign it (or even any indication as to why I should.), the download option is still there.
I did poke around a bit when I first downloaded it to see how to assign a license but found nothing.

Take out all of the text and images from the content section; then add the lines of text that are currently above the first image. Then press return on your keyboard to get a new line, now you should add the image then return again to start the new lines of text. You can see an example of this herehttp://containers.formigo.co.uk/index.php/test....

Thanks

That's what I want!

So I tried that and get the same as I have now, basically I can get the text to clear the graphic, but only by adding enough CR's to the text under the image (each one moves the text one line further down until the last line clears the image and is underneath it)
However even when I do that the space each CR has created (at the top and bottom of the image is a twice what you have on your test page).

Perhaps there's some sort of text flow setting I'm missing??

Apologies, I realise how painful this is (did I mention I know nothing about web stuff??)

Steve could you possibly PM us a log in to your site (not on the forum) so we can take a look, I am sure it will be something we can fix no problem.

Thanks
