Just wondering if there is a way (or plans to be a way) that the transition effects can be changed (such as Fade) rather than just the slide left to right?

We don't have any further development plans for this add-on currently. There may be an opportunity to rework several parts of this add-on once 5.7 has been released and fully tested; there seems little point to invest lots of time now, when things are inevitably going to change with concrete5's next major release. To be honest, transitions was not something on the roadmap, so can't promise anything there, sorry.
