Notification for Pages Pending Approval

Permalink Browser Info Environment
As I start using Simple Content with more users, I'm finding the "Approval Pending" process more cumbersome by the day. I have to manually check, in some cases several times a day, to see if pages are pending, which seriously digs into my own efficiency.

Can you work up a simple email notification that there are (specific) pages pending, ideally with a link inside the email taking the Admin right to the Unapproved Pages page on the Dashboard?

I know I've seen this request elsewhere but it may have slipped past. It's a pretty important missing component of an otherwise terrific add-on. Thanks.

HI.

Firstly, what version of c5 are you on? I understand that 5.6 has an "unapproved pages" list in the context of "workflow" and might even have an email alert. For sites below 5.6, I don't know how you would check for pending pages. There seems to be a package that shows everything as one page (http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/block_requests/workflow-approval-process-in-dashboard/ -- but it's pretty old).

In general, though, I'm really hesitant to make this a part of simple content. It's a "problem" with all block types -- if one of your users goes into edit mode, makes a change, then saves it -- and not unique to SC.

Thanks for the quick reply, James. You bring up good points. I'm still on v5.5, waiting for bugs to shake out. but I will upgrade shortly and see if that resolves the issue.
