Pre-Sale - Functionality

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Looking at this plugin. Couple questions:

1. If you had multiple maps into the website, do you just have ,multiple "location tabs or how does this work (so locations are tied to the specific maps)?

2. I see that you can display a list of map locations below the map, but can you have that list off to the right (and off completely) - along with a search - we have several maps that have several locations on the map and people really like the right list (click on them and opens the location (like yours does with list below) (see 2 images attached)

Hi Paul,

1 - Different maps can have different sets of locations through the use of 'Groups'. You can create multiple groups in the dashboard and then assign each location to one or more groups. Finally map blocks can be filtered to show locations from a particular group.

2 - I am familiar with the screenshots you've attached, I've used that block a number of times on 5.6 sites. In contrast to that block I didn't include a block level option to put the list to the side, or a search/filter. The reason is that I felt there were too many different ways people would want this to work, too many grid systems and responsive considerations to make. The same consideration was made for the search, people's expectations would vary a lot. So I simply went with outputting a very plain list of locations.

However, placing the list of locations on a side and making it scrollable would be achievable through only a little bit of additional custom styling, as both the map and the list have classes on them that would be easily targeted. You then could adjusting the width and responsiveness to suit your theme.

The search you would need to also implement yourself through the use of a custom block template - that's obviously harder and would require Javascript, but there wouldn't be anything in the block that would prevent its inclusion I don't believe.
