I wonder, because the files in the package (vers. 1.0) are from 2015. Could you please tell me what archive you have? Did you make any changes to the code?

Security Plus
Im a theme designer and I use this addon as a recommendation if users want a login link in the footer. I no longer hard code the link in the theme. Many users want the added security of not having a public link to the login page.

I've used this for a couple of 5.7+ sites now and the simplicity of this add-on is fantastic. It's not over complicated with its use or settings. It just works. Awesome!
