Thanks for your message.
I just want to ensure I have a good idea of what you're asking...
Do you want a single button to initiate the menu (and support placement on the left, right, above, below)?

If you have a quick drawing you can supply of what you have in mind that could also help.

Much appreciated.

3AM here ... short description more for better understanding.

button for::
vertical, horizontal.
// 2 radiobuttons in block editor, to say navigation style vertical or horizontal.

open to: left, right, up, down.
// 4 radiobuttons to say, in which direction the menu will open the subcontainer...
by vertical in combination with up or down, it can be work like a jquery accordion..
vertical left right is normal same as in webshops ..

use for: sitemap, portfolio, blog, users directory, blog_THEME Catalog and entry's, specials.
// 6 radiobuttons to tell the block, which data he must display.

*specials,
can be a selection of sites from site manager, or a selection of files from file-explorer.

THANKS A LOT FOR TAKING TIME ;)

Ok, thanks for the breakdown of details. A couple thoughts:
1) Currently there is a separate "Mega Menu Vertical" add-on, but it's only compatible with C5.6.x and hasn't received new features like Hamburger support. I would consider merging this together with the main "Mega Menu" and adding support for the "vertical" menu like you're describing. That makes sense.

2) I understand what you mean about opening menus in different directions. I'm assuming you want each submenu to open in the same (not changed on a submenu by submenu basis), correct?

3) Have you tried using the "extended menu" feature? Here you can add virtually any block (via a "stack"), including page list, images, autonav, etc. Each block can even use a custom template for maximum flexibility. Based on what you're describing this already does the job. But if I understand correctly, by adding finer controls, this can be more easily controlled via the Mega Menu editor interface, correct? My only concern with that is making the already complex interface already more complex, which will likely scare new users. What's your thoughts on that?

On that note, my hourly rate is US$90/hr and based on what you've provided so far, I expect about 5-8 hours of work is involved. This estimate can be further refined once I have a bit more detail to some of the questions mentioned above.

I look forward to your feedback.

Oh, no thanks for that, it is sense of a community ;)

>1 Yes sure update this is a nice idea ;)

>2 Yes, all sub dir open in one directory ..

>3 Yes, it is possible to add sites, site by site from hand...
perhaps for portfolio sites it is ok, so projects everybody have less,
if he had a new project, will be, user can add this one site by hand..
By BLOG sites, other users did type blogs, and webmaster can`t add them all time
from hand.
but it will be enough, if admin can set: "add automatic new sites, started from page_A in
site-manager".

>4 based on new >1 and new >3, it will be less hours ;)
And if i pay full, on end i got a block to sell it on the marketplace?
Perhaps i do thinking some more times about how to make your block perfect,
and make beta testing with nice reports for you...
so you can sell more blocks, and i invest more time as cash...?
// i am a old pioneer, not a rich man..

Hi BB,
Thanks for your patience and apologies in the delay in getting back to you.
Re: #1 and #2, I got your feedback and that makes sense.

#3 You can add a "autonav" or "page list" block within the Extended Menu (perhaps using the Stacks feature in C5) to automatically generate menu items (even filtered lists based on page types - eg all blog posts).

#4 the project cost covers development time on my end, and gives you a license to use the code on your website (you can't sell the block in the marketplace - you only receive a "license"). Unfortunately with lots of projects on my plate I have to prioritise paid work. At the moment the trickle of sales from the C5 marketplace is very small, and new development costs can't be recouped that way. I wish it were possible.
