Be aware

dearagon
If this addon does what it is supposed to do then, it seems like a good price. However, be aware that there is no support. I am new to concrete5 and the instructions given after purchase are very limited, poorly written and appear to be incomplete.

I'd be sure that you know what you're doing before you buy or you'll be like me - stuck with something that isn't supported and cannot use until I figure it out on my own.

Dear David,

Two things:

1. Your question to me was:
"Hi, I bought your add-on for $49 but I am new to concrete and I simply cannot figure
out how to set it up past adding the pin.
I saw the short one page instructions to install it but pretty much after the
pictures showing the ipn stuff, it's all greek to me. "

My reaction was:
"For generic package installation guides you could best use the general
forums on Concrete5.org.
Also you can read the README provided in the root folder of the package.

This package installs like every other package and provides a block for
registered users to buy a subscription."

After I sent above e-mail I received no reaction from you, just this review.

Maybe I understood you wrong, but your e-mail indicates you don't know how Concrete5 works. That's fine, everybody must start somewhere. But don't expect generic Concrete5 support from an addon developer. The web is filled with Concrete5 tutorials and howto's. Use it.

As far as my addon goes.. as I said: it not much more than, install addon, setup IPN, and use the block. It's all there on the installation page.
Here is the part you probably did not read:

"INSTALLATION & CONFIGURATION:
1. Put this folder into the root/packages folder of your concrete5 website
2. Install the package
3. Create some pages in the sitemap only visible to users of the auto-created "Paying Members"-group
(dashboard/sitemap/full/), use "set permissions" in the menu
4. Create a Cancel- and Success-page where visitors will return to after paypal
often the success-page is the landing page of your members-only area
5. Go to dashboard/paypal_membership_subscriptions/memberships and add a new membership
6. Place the "subscribe"-block somewhere on your website
7. Let the people know they can now pay for your content via subscriptions..."

If this is Greek to you, please read tutorials how to add pages and blocks on Concrete5.

2. Check out the review of the 5.7 / 5.8 version:
"The plug in gave me a bit of trouble, but Jaap shows he really cares about his customers and was very, very helpful. [..]"

If you still have problems, create a new user, add the user to the admin-group, send me the url and login via e-mail, and I'll set things up for you.
