Links inside the pop up

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi,

just bought your product which I have used to display a simple text page using the Void theme as suggested.

I have inserted a graphic which I have linked to another page on the site but when you click on it the link the requested page opens inside the pop up, when it 'should' close the pop up and go to the page requested.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Ian

Hi Ian, assuming you're using a content block, you should set the link "target" as "parent", that way it will affect the parent page which initiated the popup.

Hope this helps.

Happy to help Ian. If you would be kind enough to leave a positive review in the marketplace, I'd really appreciate that:

Have a great weekend.

Can you be a little more specific on how to set the target to parent within the add-on? I am using an image (no text) to trigger the popup. (I am using internal iframe page as the Ajax option just hangs.) The internal page is a Void page that contains a Page List of news items. When someone clicks on a link in the page list, I would like it to close the window and go to the appropriate page on the site. It's quite possible that my brain is just tired and I am missing something obvious, but any further detail on where to set the target would be most helpful. Thanks.

Hi Tim,
It all depends on the block you're using to create the link.

If you're using a Page List block, you'll need to create a custom template (if you don't know how to do this, take a look at the "how to" section on the C5 site). You'll find in the view.php file (that you should copy and place in a "templates" folder, then rename) a little bit of code where the link is built. Simply add the " target='_parent'" attribute. It will take a bit of HTML/PHP knowledge to do that.

If you're using the "image" block, it will also require a custom block template - same deal as above.

If you're using the "content" block, you can easily set the "target" when making a link (insert/edit link).

Hope this helps.
