how to setup a custom template

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there, I am using a custom made template for this blog. It is a right side bar themed page. The left main content area is labeled "Main" the side bar are is labeled "right sidebar".

a few questions:
1) First how do you set up the sidebar template to flow in content? I get that you place the the problog page list block into the main content area in page types. But what I find confusing is how you would get the page to work with composer. I tried adding the composer content block into the template but it still won't allow editing of the page in composer.

2) Secondly I'm trying to make this as brainless as possible for a client so that they can just jump one and easily create a blog post from the sitemap or the problog area. However I notice in the problog content editor, the content editor is doesn't allow for expanding the area. Is this some styling your need to fix ing the add-on?
