I works just like it says! I added it to a site using the the core commerce add-on after the customer requested the ability to show other products (colours) that a customer might be interested in, balls of wool actually.
Potentially there will be quite a lot of related products to each product details page and it works perfect. Restyling the block is a breeze!
MY SUGGESTION :)
And, by no means a negative, but a nice feature my customer would like is the ability to select multiple products at the same time. It would be useful to be able to tick checkboxes against each related product and add them all in one go. Rather like in the file manager you can choose a number of images to perform an action on them at the same time.
