Sub-pages in feed?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I am trying to make a feed for a very large section of my site.. so I have subpages. They are in the following structure:

Videos
-2009
--January
--February
--Etc.
-2010
--January
--February
--Etc.

Was a little surprised to see that when I made the feed for "Videos", it just showed the years, and then when I did it for "2010" it just showed the months. From the looks of it I can continually change the config of the feed, therefore at the beginning of each month change it over.. but that's time consuming and a little stupid.

Any way at all to make this do sub-pages?

at the moment the best way to handle this kind of page hierarchy is to make a "Video" page type, and then have the rss pull all pages with that page type from anywhere in the site. I haven't had any other requests for it to handle a tree of pages under one parent page, but if some other people show interest in this I can probably add it to the package.

Ah, okay!

Lucky me, I already had a "Video" page type I was using.. so this was easy.

Something I would like to know just for clarity, since I am having it pull from everywhere.. I am adding older items to this archive, but I am back-dating their publish date to what it should be. (So I am adding videos with a publish date of 2009, 2008) Since I have this feed set to "newest", they shouldn't appear, right?

yeah, that's right. keep in mind that the feed results are cached too, but you can turn that off by setting the cache time to zero.
