Why the atom namespace?

Just curious why you declared the atom namespace and used the atom namespaced link tag in the feed?

yeah, that's kind of unnecessary, and you can pull that out by editing the rss feed page type controller. some guy was trying to get the feeds to work with some other service, and that service required the atom tag. But honestly, I should have just had him just customize it for his specific instance.
