As of version 1.1, you can use Google PageSpeed Insights with the on-page SEO helper.
To activate Google PageSpeed Insights, you'll need an API key:
- Go to https://console.developers.google.com/project
- Create a new project if necessary.
- Navigate to the project you are using by clicking the project name in the console.
- Click the 'APIs' link in the side navigation
- Click the 'PageSpeed Insights API' link in the main area
- Click the 'Enable API' button
- Click the 'Credentials' link in the side navigation
- Click the 'Create New Key' button
- Click the 'Server Key' button
- Click the 'Create Key' button
- Copy the new 'API Key'
- Navigate to {yourdomain.com}/index.php/dashboard/system/seo/skybluesofa_seo in your browser
- Tick the 'Enable Google PageSpeed Insights' box
- Paste the API key into the 'Google PageSpeed API Key' box
- Ensure the 'Enable On-page SEO Helper' checkbox is ticked. (It is further down the settings page)
- Click the 'Save Settings' button
- Navigate to a page on your site.
- Click on the 'Search Experience Optimization' button in the upper left corner of the page. It looks like a magnifying glass with a plus in it.
- Once the sidebar loads, you should see a 'Google PageSpeed' header. You can click on this header to drill down to review the Insights returned by Google.
