No slideshow possible?

Hi! Is it possible to use the slider overlay on one unchanging picture instead of a slideshow?

That is a good question. The main purpose of the add-on is to be used as a slideshow... I have never considered not to use it as that. I supposed with a bit of custom Javascript coding it could force the slideshow to stop after the first slide. Is that what you have in mind?

If you really need that functionality, I can do the custom programming for you for a small fee. If you'd like to go ahead, just confirm.

Yes. That's what I'm wanting. Here's an example. Follow this link, and mouse over the "sermon series" banners... "Honorology" and "Sun Stand Still"

When you mouse over the banners, an overlay slides out and shows links. I would like to use your add-on to accomplish this. As far as I can tell, yours is the only add-on that comes close to what I'm trying to do. I know I can show links on the slider using html in the description.

What would the fee be?

I see what you mean. This is actually quite a bit different to the way the slider overlay works. But I do really like that effect and am always on the lookout for new jQuery scripts to use as a base for future C5 add-ons we create.

You've got 3 options for what we can do:
1) I have added this script to the list of C5 add-ons to create. It may be a month or so away (maybe longer) before we have time to build and publish it on the C5 marketplace. So if it's not urgent and you can wait, this would be the cheapest option. That way you can snap it up for the standard price (probably around $15).

2) I can custom create the script you're after. Essentially replicating the same effect this other website has done - they've hard-coded it all in using jQuery. The upside is this will be the fastest option in the short-term, but will not be as flexible if you wish to re-use the script throughout your site. So in the long-term, unless you can do Javascript programming, then it would end up costing more. So I wouldn't recommend this option.

3) The best of both world - I can custom create that script for you at our regular rates (US$90/hr - I would expect this sort of add-on to be done in 3-4 hrs). It will be very flexible and easy to re-use. Once it's complete I can then list it in the marketplace for others to buy as well. But I could turn this around in about a 1-2 days. That would be a win-win for both sides. In return for helping fast-track this add-on for submission to the marketplace, you will a 15% discount off the regular rates (quoted above). Payment would be made via Paypal upon completion of the add-on.

Which one of those options would work best for you?
