5.6.x Backport - feasibility

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi mnkras!
Cool plugin - provides some very cool options.
Our team has built an app using 5.6.3 and is locked into that version for the moment.
Could you please comment with some indication of how hard it would be to backport to 5.6.x?
Thanks very much
Mike

Hey Mike,

It should be possible, basically if your server supports PHP 5.3/5.4 then I don't think it would be too bad.

I personally have not played much with the File Storage Location system in 5.6 so its hard to tell if it would be possible.

For my addon to work in 5.7, I had to submit patches into the core so that everything worked properly.

If you really need/want it I can dig in a bit further, but at the absolute minimum, your server would need to have PHP 5.3

Hope that answers the question

Mike

Upon further investigation, its basically impossible without core changes.

Sorry :(
