Is the resulting theme limited to the site the add-on is installed on?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi Ramon,

So the immediate question that comes to mind (my mind anyway), is this--
Once a theme is completely created, can I copy the theme folder to a different site that does not use the add-on and use it there like normal? Or Is the resulting theme somehow limited to the site the add-on is licensed for and installed on?

Regards,
Owen

Hi Owen,

There is no limitation for created Themes using Theme Designer. You are able to copy/paste it wherever you'd like to. By default it will install the package though upon creating, so it may make sense to set the "Direct Install" field to the "No" value under the "Professionals" - "Package" tab. Or just directly uninstall after creating and then move it to the project you need it for.

Kind regards,

Ramon

Hey Ramon,

You are the man! That is the answer I was hoping for. I thought to myself "Ramon very possibly just created another major time saver even for developers, and as a result hit add-on, to the degree Block Designer is". Can you say "Game Changer"!

I have a number of html themes I could use this for to begin with that I haven't yet had the time to convert. This add-on could very well change some aspects of how I do business!

Thank you Buddy!

Owne,

It should be a game changer for most out there, knowing little about concrete5 OR those who just want to edit their themes in a GUI instead of diving into the code.

This can also be used if I want to share themes with others, as I can simply copy/paste my configuration file contents to anyone I'd like them to have. Have the assets on a live URL and they are ready to go, with a theme I created. Could mean I can convert for other people, or help them if they got stuck somewhere. Of course, that would mean additional costs, since I can't do that all for free.

Lot of options I guess.

Kind regards,

Ramon
