Hey,

I did a quick run through the newsletter add-on.

I have a few problems.

I am not able when creating a new template to define the background color. not for the header or the body or the footer.

I have an error when sending the mail: no recipients found. please choose another group.

I don't know exactly what it means: with "the mailing name"
what do I have to enter there?

I did encounter the fact that it is not that easy to create a well-designed newsletter.

Hi there

Did you read the docs about creating templates & newsletters?

I know it isn't that easy to create a descent template and it's a big advantage to have some knowledge about HTML & CSS. That's why that add on is marked as "Intermediate", which means:
"Safe, but complex to configure".

The message (not an error) "No recipients found" appears because there were no users/groups found being SUPSCRIPTED to a newsletter. (See the supscription page). You need to mark users as subscripted either on that mentioned supscription page or in their respective user profile by checking the user attribute "Receive toesslab - Newsletter".

The "mailing name" is just an internal designation making it easier to find your mailing again (Mailing History). Up to you how you'd like to name a mailing.

Hey,

I am in trouble.
I have an error message when adding the user to the subscription list.
In both ways it don't work.

Hi there

Please check permissions on the folder: application/files/. it should be 755 (writable by the webserver)
Try to upload a file to your Filemanager.

Hey daenu,

I am already so far!
IT is almost succeeded.
the add-on did give me the message in the mailing history that the mail was send.

I nevertheless did not receive the mail in my inbox.
Can you help me?

Did you set the global email settings at Dashboard -> System & Settings -> Email ?

Did you set the contfigurations at toesslab - Newsletter -> Newsletter Settings?

I did learn about api.
But I am not going on to test before I have an email of the client to set up.

hey Daenu,

I am back.
I did work for a while on an other project.
That is way you did not hear something from me.
I wish to say the following concerning the Toesslab addon on maartenweb.be

* Thank you for the add-on.
* I did set the smtp settings on external and did do a test. It seems to work well.
* I also do succeed to send a test message in Toesslab.
* also the send message is displayed in the mail history.

but the problem is that i don't receive anything in the concerning mailbox.
The send by is set to directly in the settings.

Can you please help me with this problem or explain what I have to do.

If you send a test message from the
/index.php/dashboard/system/mail/method/test/do_test
(Test Mail Settings) does the mail is being sent? Do you get it in your mailbox?
Did you check the spam/junk folder?

Yes indeed, a long list of data in the logs.
but is short it is the following:

Mail Exception Occurred. Unable to send mail: 5.7.1 Sender address rejected: Username info@maartenweb.be and sender stefaan.dereu@gmail.com doesn't match

I understand the username but I don’t understand the sender, where from does he get this information

There you go:

It means that the senders address has some issues.

Again, If you send a test mail from the dashboards email setting, do you receive it in your mailbox? What exactly are your settings in the mail settings of your site? Could you post those settings, please (without password naturally)?
It doesn't seem like an issue coming from the newsletter addon but rather from your general email settings.

Hey Daenu,

Thank you very much for your support.
I did succeed with a new newsletter from scratch.
Is it possible that the newsletter must be made with the same concrete5 account (login) and the account with which you send it?
Can there be a problem when you use an other account (login) for sending then the account that did create the newsletter?

But i think that I have succeeded to send a newsletter.
I am very happy.

I will do some more tests and hope I will understand it all.

Glad you sorted it!

For the email account the newsletters being sent from, have a look at the addon's Settings page.

After all, this addon isn't marked as "intermediate" for nothing. It's a bit complicated to set up.

Hey daenu,

I have another technical question.
Can you tell me how it comes that a selected photo in the design of a newsletter do not show up in the email received.
It happens sometimes but i find it very annoying that you have to look to the browser version.
Which in this case is not available.
I know that in the computer technique, all changes on and on, but it keeps a man for going on.
