support for single images

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there,

I love this addon. Just one thing i miss is support for single images instead of a fileset. Are you planning on adding this functionality?

Or is it easy to add it in the code myselve? (i'm not much of a programmer)

regards, buurvrouw

Hello,
Thank you for for saying you love the add-on. I work hard on trying to satisfy users and I'm happy it pays off :)

I actually though about the single image functionality but in the end I decided against it for several reasons:
- In terms of coding it complicates a lot the whole add-on and makes it much harder to support (my opinion anyway)
- Because of the added complication I would have to increase the price of the add-on and I believe that would be a turn off for many users
- Selecting pictures and adding them to one or several groups is really trivial and in the end I couldn't really see any benefit to the single image functionality

Of course these are all mostly subjective points, especially the last one, and if you are of a different opinion please let me know, I'm always open to constructive feedback.

Just so you know about future plans I have in mind, right now what I am trying to work on is improving the touch sliding part that I am not totally satisfied with.
I am also thinking about developing a multi-set version.

Meanwhile, if you had the time I would be really grateful if you could leave a review of the add-on on its page. You can do that following this link:http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/touch-gallery/reviews...

Many thanks again for your interest and nice words

Hi,

Thanks for your quick answer. I understand your decisions.
For a client i needed a gallery with lightbox function for filesets, but also for single images. I chose to use another add-on with both functionality. It's not responsive and doesn't have the nice UI you made, but working fine.

I can definitely use my licence for your add-on in another project. Keep up the good work!

I will think about it.
If I do it, I will most likely offer it as a separate add-on for a higher price but it might be a good idea.

I will make sure to let you know if I get a chance to build that add-on.
