The login background image is certainly one that has been on our radar. We were waiting for some stability in 5.7.5+ to ensure that any changes we made were also stable.
As for the title formatting, that is an interesting idea - not 100% sure whether or not this is something we would add. We would have to look in to it more to understand the implementation.
