I've checked the source code. The add-on uses the Javascript API for YouTube. It has a "http" address hard-coded in it, but by editing just 1 small piece of code, you can change that to "https". On line 47 of the youTubeEmbed-jquery-1.0.js file, just change "http" with "https" and you should be good to go.
