totally customizable?

I really like the look of the acme slate theme, but when it says it's "totally customizable", what exactly does that mean?
Do you need to know php/css to customize it, or is there some "easy" way in the theme to change colors and such?
I know just enough about css to be dangerous!

Some offer less and some offer more. If you need something specific just let me know and I'll put it in the customize list and update the theme. It hard to know how much control people want in the dashboard.
