2nd Level Sub-Menu on mobile Device - Can't access it.

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there,
I was testing the website on the iOS Device Simulator from Apple XCode Tools. Everything works fine, expect when trying to access the navigation two levels down.

Example:

Homepage -> Submenu of Homepage -> item links to page = works
Homepage -> Submenu of Homepage -> item has more Subpages = works in Browser, doesn't work on mobile device. If I tap the triangle of the second level submenu, it doesn't open the menu but goes to the first item page.

Couldn't test it on your website since you only go one level down.

I need the mobile device to be able to crawl down the menu levels not just the first one.

Thanks.

## EDIT ##

The "Back" Button doesn't work as well... to go one menu back.

I would suggest that perhaps the iOS device simulator you are using is not accurate or you have other issues; the navigation can go down multiple levels no problem.

I have added a test page 'Third Level' under 'Features > Typography' herehttp://alpha.formigo.co.uk/. This works fine...

Tested on iPhone and with Firefox dev tools which allows you to resize the window to an iPhone size.

Cheers

If I gave you the credentials to access the website, could you take a look what it might be?

Can I write personal messages in here?

Does the link work OK in our demo for you?

Have it still as well. Don't know why or how to fix it.
Can't access second level and going back in doesn't work either.

Already deactivated all other addons so that only the theme was left, still the same.

How are you testing this?

I have loaded up your site on my iPhone and I can navigate to:

Farmers/Terroir > Terroir > Bhutan for example just fine without issue.

As I have mentioned further up in the discussion, the demo site we use for the theme runs the latest version of the theme and works as expected too.

Thanks

Hi.

I am testing this on my iPhone too. I can also navigate to the deepest level but cannot navigate to Farmers/Terroir > Terroir from your example. Under Products there are several categories with the same structure.

Thanks
Rob

In that case you need to configure the top_bar nav a little differently.

If you open up the footer.php file from packages/alpha/themes/alpha/elements and navigate to line 148 you should see:

$(document).foundation();

If you change this to:

$(document).foundation({
topbar : {
mobile_show_parent_link : true,
}
});

That should do it...

In fact this may not work sorry - as this a foundation 5 feature and Alpha is built with Foundation 4.

I have this problem too - tested live on ipad and iphone. Can't navigate to top level when they are sub-pages. Was a fix for this found?

Only way I can fix is selecting show relevant sub pages when editing sub-pages to display in edit auto-nav. But of course this mean I lose the drop down sub pages menu on other pages.

The rest of the theme is great though.

Unfortunately this is the way the navigation works in Foundation 4 which the theme is built on. You may consider adding a sub page of the same name and put your content there instead and then use the replace link with first in nav attribute as outlined by JordanLev here -http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/customizing_c5/auto-nav-p...

That would do it.

This problem seems to be also happening in Foundation 5.
Home (can see) > Level 2(can't see) > Level 3 (can see) on iphone. Will there be an actual fix for this in any forthcoming updates?

If you have Foundation5 the setting detailed further up this thread (mobile_show_parent_link) should work for you
