Sticky main menu

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I've customized this theme and love it, but I have one major problem: the main menu does not stick to the top (on the scroll) like it does in the site demo. This was one of my favorite favorite features! Is there a setting I need to turn on or adjust?

Our main menu is also still randomly showing a search box (placed there accidentally) even though I've resolved it and cleared the cache.

When you say customized, do you mean edited core files within the package? If so, then this could be why the navigation is not 'sticky'. It should be sticky by default with no further options needing to be changed, so sounds like something is broken. We can not support modified packages for obvious reasons but if you let us have a URL I can take a quick look to see if there are any obvious issues.

As for the unwanted search block - this sounds very much like a known concrete5 bug where incorrect blocks are displayed on the page. There is a relatively easy fix for this... you need to figure our which area the unwanted block is in and then add a content block then save and publish the page. Then in edit mode remove the content block and save and publish once more. This resets the area and should fix your issue.

Thanks

Thank you for the quick response.

I only customized the colors, not the core files.

Can not seem to access that page:

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Cheers

Sorry, I should have known that; we're building this site to replace the current one, so outside access is going to be an issue. What should I be looking for that might indicate a cause?

It is very difficult to say without seeing the site to be honest. As the navigation works locally for us it sounds like it must be something on your site that is breaking this. If you have developer tools you could check for any javascript errors, that is always a good place to start.

Has the sticky nav ever worked on your site i.e. when you first installed the theme?

It has never worked, I even deleted and reinstalled the theme.

Are you definitely using 'Alpha Main Nav' as the custom template on the auto-nav?

Have you tried this when logged out of the site?

I was having the same issue. I just installed the theme and noticed right away that the "sticky main menu" wasn't sticking. I soon discovered that it just didn't work while in Edit mode. Seems to work fine, otherwise, by default. Just thought I'd throw this out there since there didn't seem to be a resolution documented here.
