Menu hide delay?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
i was just wounding is there a way to have the menu hidden on page load rather than have it visible and then after a delay slide away?

So there would be no menu when you load the page and it would only load once you hover or click the the menu button.

like the "triggered using click:" example herehttp://www.getintothis.com/pub/projects/rb_menu/...

thanks for your help
Regards
Matthew

Matthew,
That is the script that the menu in Clearview uses, so whatever options are available can be used.
You can see more info about the script here:
http://www.getintothis.com/blog/2006/09/26/my-first-jquery-plugin-a...

To modify the options for the menu, look for this code:
$('#menu-wrap').rb_menu({transition: 'swing', loadHideDelay: 3000});

In the newest version of Clearview it's in the functions.js file (theme_clearview/themes/clearview/js/functions.js). In later versions it was in the footer.php file (theme_clearview/themes/clearview/elements/footer.php).

Is there anyway to add a load (menu slide in) delay. so when the page loads the menu auto slides in after 3000ms for example.

I can't see where this can be done with the code fromhttp://www.getintothis.com/pub/projects/rb_menu...

thanks

That's what the loadHideDelay setting does (see code above). Right now it's set to 3000ms. Just change 3000 to whatever you want.

Or is there something else you're referring to?

Thanks for the reply but i don't want it to delay and then slide off.

I want the page to load with NO MENU and then after a delay slide in.

Ah, I see. Hmm, not sure if that's possible. Check the link in my first reply and see if there's any mention of being able to do that.

I'm thinking about purchasing this theme but I have questions about the sliding menu. I tried clicking on the link, but it says the Github page is not found. Is there another way to get to the script info? Also, would I be able to make the menu bar vertical (placed on the left side of the page) instead of horizontal at the top? Thanks!

Hmmm. The original developer of that menu script must not be supporting it anymore. I couldn't find a valid link anymore.
See this thread about making the menu bar vertical:
