Concrete5 Dream Place Theme

** When upgrading from 5.4x we recommend you make a copy of all the files in your website to a new directory, edit your [new_directory]/config/site.php file and install a new copy of your database so you have a completely seperate copy of your website.  Upgrade the new site to 5.5x and test themes and Add Ons for compatibility problems. **

If you were using a Scrapbook for your on a 5.4 site, you will need to create Stack named 'Logo' and duplicate the content you had in the Scrapbook.

 

Your Header Nav will also need to be copied into the 'Header Nav' Global Area Stack

Dream Place will install automatically as package from the Concrete5 Marketplace and can be added from Dashboard - Add Functionality, once that is done you need to activate it from Dashboard- Pages and Themes

 

If you downloaded the file you can copy all the files in the archive (the Dream Place directory) to your packages directory then install from Dashboard - Add Functionality and then activating the theme from Dashboard- Pages and Themes.

 

You can also install manually to your themes directory by copying the themes/Dream Place directory to the themes directory and blocks/search to the blocks directory of your Concrete5 installation

 

Once installed and activated your site will display the Dream Place Theme.  Dream Place is a Static height and Width, overflowing text will be hidden.  If you had loaded the sample content when you installed Concrete5 you will see the Main and Sidebar content in the lower area of the page.  

 

The upper area consist of has two content areas one with a solid background the other with an image. The background image can be changed by replacing images/top-image.png or by creating a File/Image Page Attribute with the handle ‘top_image’ to change the background from page to page.

 

The logo on the top left is themes/images/logo.png You can change this image for your own logo. If this file is deleted the Site Name as defined in the Dashboard will be displayed. You can also create an Image Block in a Stack named 'Logo' to replace the logo on all pages on your site and a File/Image Page Attribute 'Logo' can be used on any page and that image will replace the logo.

 

A search block template called Header Search is included with the theme.  Install a search block in the header search area and select the custom template Header Search.

 

The menu is a standard Auto Nav block using the 'Header Menu' template that comes with Concrete5.

 

Basic styling is included for menus in sidebars.

 

There are 3 page types included in the theme. default.php which is the left sidebar page, full.php and view.php which is used to wrap single pages.

 

This theme has been tested in Windows, IE7, 8 and 9, Firefox 3.6, Chrome 7 and Safari 5. On Mac Safari 5, Firefox, Chrome
