Install Theme with Sample Content

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I purchased the Equinox theme and activated it. I was hoping to see something similar to the "Live Demo" version. Is there a way to install with sample content that I can edit? Also, is there a way to "Clear the cache"? I see it in the forums but not sure how to do it.

Thanks.

Yes, this theme comes with sample content. If you have installed without this then you need to uninstall from your 'Extend concrete5' dashboard page. Once you have done this you need to install once more but this time select 'Yes' install with sample content.

Clearing the cache is a system wide action and not related to the theme. You will find this in the concrete5 dashboard under system & settings and optimization...

Thanks for the quick response. All went well until I tried to install with sample content. My cursor changed to a "blocked" sign when I tried to select Yes radio button.

That is very odd... what version of concrete5 are you using? Could you copy your environment info in to the post please so we can see.

I'm using the latest version of Concrete5 (7.2.?). Could you tell me where to get the other information you need?

Are you the admin of the site? It says in the screenshot 'Only the admin user may reset the site's content'... which leads me to believe you are not logged in as 'admin' - is this correct?

Only the 'admin' user can reset the sites content.

I am the admin. I'm the only person who works on the site. I was able to install the theme originally and uninstall it.

That message may be a red herring then...

Would you be able to Private Message us a URL and a login to the site so we may take a look please?https://www.concrete5.org/profile/-/view/189277/...

Thanks

Prior to this, I also uninstalled the Elemental theme so when I go to my site now, all pages are blank. Maybe I should reinstall the Elemental theme and then try to install Equinox.

This sounds unrelated to be honest. Not sure how you would go about re-installing the core Elemental theme other than starting from a fresh install of conrete5 - given the situation; I would advise maybe it would be a good idea to start with a fresh install in any case.

I did some testing locally and that error you see on the install page only appears when I am logged in as an other user that is NOT admin but have admin priveledges.

As the theme does not control any of this functionality I would think the issue is with the concrete5 install itself.

How can I check to make sure I'm logged in as admin?

If you have never added a new user to the system then you must be logged in as 'admin'. if you open your dashboard panel to the right, at the bottom it tells you whom you are logged in as right by the log out link.

If you could PM us a login to the site then we can take a look for you. It is very hard to diagnose the issue without seeing the site. As I have previously mentioned, I think the issue must not be theme related in any case as the theme does not control this type of functionality.

OK. So I must be the admin. What is PM? I'd be happy to let you have access.

'Private Message' - that way no one can see your log in details. Click this link:
https://www.concrete5.org/profile/-/view/189277/...

Then click send message from our profile. Give us your URL and admin log in details and we can take a look.

Based on the PM you just sent you are not 'admin' but rather 'stomanovich'?? However that log in does not work for me; can you confirm it is correct please? We can not log in...

Thanks

In regards to you last PM...

That is your problem - you are not admin user.

You need to be admin user to install sample content as per that message I pointed out to you at the top of this thread. Even with adminstrators priveledges, this is not enough.

To clarify there is no issue with the theme or concrete5 install - You MUST be admin (root user).

I apologize for not getting this right at the beginning. Supposedly I have admin rights but not for everything. I'll try to reinstall the theme. Thanks for all your help and patience.

OK, no worries.

If you can log in as 'admin' then I am confident that you will have this working as intended.

Thanks

OK. I'm almost there.

1. Logged in as admin
2. All pages are blank
3. Went to Themes to add Equinox
4. Get More Themes > Equinox > Download
5. Can't download. Message: •The directory /home8/compasz3/public_html/home.compasstechconsulting.com/packages/equinox already exists. Perhaps this item has already been installed.
6. Download the file manually from HERE takes me to a page that does not seem to have a download button.
7. I'd really rather download directly anyway...

Any advice or have I used up all my good will?

You do not need to re-download the Equinox theme. You already have this.

You need to go to 'Extend concrete5' in the dashboard and un-install Equinox if it is installed. Then you need to install via the same page, this time selecting 'Yes' on the sample content page.

That should be it.

BTW - who set this up for you originally if you do not mind me asking?
