Levl 1 Footer content persists after deletion
Permalink Browser Info Environment
I employed Levl2 footer and found that the live site still displayed both this and Lev1 footer sample content.
And so I used Lev1 footer but found that it insists on having content in each column and persists in displaying content after it is deleted.

Minor correction: I now have to create content on both footer levels because deleted content persists if I don't do that.
Hi!
Sorry were you able to resolve the problem? If not, can you attach a screenshot. I'll help you as soon as I see the problem
Kind regards
James

The problem remains but I have minimised the impact
The attachment shows what I found.
1. I deleted the sample content in Levl 1 as I preferred the Levl 2 options.
2. I added content to Levl 2.
3. While edited the site everything looked fine.
4. I later noticed that the live site (shown in the screenshot) still had your content.
5. I checked every and cleared the cache twice - no change.
6. I added different content to Lev 1 which was okay. I then deleted it and the problem returned - live site containing sample content.
7 I then Entered Lel 1 content and deleted my Levl 2 content - did not work on live site.
So it seems that once content is created for the footer levels it is impossible to create a live site with no content despite it being clearly deleted in the editor. This persistence of content seems true for both Levl 1 and Levl 2. And so I now how more footer content than I really want.

Hi
Ok so from what I understand you are trying to edit the autonav on the footer? Its odd that you cant edit the content but did you try saving the edits site wide instead of per page? Also, you can let the autonav start with the second level by editing the autonav and selecting start with second level.
I hope I understood this correctly.

Hi James,
I need to correct your understanding.
I DO understand the ability to adjust autonav.
The problem is NOT specific to autonav.
The footers are sitewide. (I do not remember being offered an option to apply to just the page.) This is evidenced by every page showing the same footer content.
*** The problem applies to all content and both footer levels. If I delete content it is removed in the page editor and yet after publishing it persists on the live site. Therefore I am obliged to populate content in both footer levels because although I can change the content I do not have the option of zero content in either level. ***
Best regards,
John

Hi John,
Thanks for clarifying.
This sounds like a caching issue but since you already cleared cache, this could be C5 not being able to save the changes correctly. Did you change any of the theme files (.php)? Can you replicate this issue on a fresh installation of C5 and theme?
If you would permit, you can create a temp account for me so I can go in and check.

- I did not - I don't know how.
Can you replicate this issue on a fresh installation of C5 and theme?
- This is a very recent installation. I believe that the issue was immediate when freshly installed but I did not immediately spot it as the problem is only visible on the live site. Also I do not have copies of the theme.

- Yes. I need your email address.
