Love the look of your theme, nice work. Looks like I could use it as a base for my next project.
Once question I am a novice front end dev, How easy would it be at add a search block template?

It really depends on where you want to add the search block. Might not be a good idea to add it in the navigation/header unless you are very comfortable editing css without compromising the design. But anywhere else, adding a search block is basically just dragging and dropping :)
In cases you need help with tweaking the css I am always here to help.
