Editing White Spaces
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi,
We just started using concrete5 and this theme, and we're satisfied with what we can do as far as designing our site.
The only roadblock we're having is that there is a part of the theme that we cannot edit. It's a blank/white space that we're hoping we can put an image/texture on or at least change the color.
Can you please tell me how I can do this? I'm not a developer/programmer so I would appreciate the simplest solution you can offer.
Hoping for an immediate response from somebody out there. Thanks in advance.

Hi again Michael,
Just want to know if you discovered a solution to my issue? thanks again for the help.

Yeah, not sure how that can be resolved other than editing the CSS files. Mainly because of the way you're applying background images (which is really what's causing "white spaces").
We're considering making the theme a little more editable from the front end, but not sure when we could get to it. Maybe next week.

Thanks Michael. I'll cross my fingers and hope to see this development next week. Have a good one.
Hi again Michael,
Just letting you know that we just updated to 1.1.1 so that we can remove the search bar. Thanks for the update.
Any news on the "white space" issue?
Thanks,
Jerome

in iGotStyle.less - line 115
#mainShell { position: relative; margin: 60px auto; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 300;
margin: 60px auto - is what you probably want to change
for me
margin: auto -- removed the whit space

Hi Bbits,
Thanks for the tip. The thing is that I'm not a programmer/developer. Not sure what to do with your advise...
Would you mind giving the complete steps so that I can give your suggestion a try?

ok .. you will need access to the web servers backend - via ftp or similar
the file in question resides in the folder structure /packages/fruitful/themes/fruitful/css/iGotStyle.less
edit this file and adjust line 115 from
#mainShell { position: relative; margin: 60px auto; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 300;
to
#mainShell { position: relative; margin: 0px auto; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 300;
sorry I don't know your hosting company so a cant do a full instruction set.

I should be able to follow these steps, thanks a bunch! I'll give it a try soon and let you know if it doesn't work. Have a good one!
Hi again,
I followed the steps but I still see the white spaces. Any other thoughts?

Do you have a link to the page you're developing? I see what you're talking about, but without a link to inspect the code, I can't see what's causing it.
