Back to Top Button not working

Hello. I have just upgraded to cr5.8 and Fundamental 4.0.5. The Back to Top button is not working. If I try to change alignment from Left to Right and then click Save, I get a white screen with this message:

Also, when you click on the button, nothing happens. Not a glimmer of movement. Zippo.

I would also like to add that this block, when added to a page, makes the Accordion Content block uneditable (at least it does in cr5.8 with Fundamental 4.0.5. It did not cause this problem in cr5.7.). I have tested this both on localhost and live site.

I have taken a systematic approach to try to figure out which block or package is the real problem. First, I stripped my website down to just a couple of pages (Sitemap.jpg). Second, I removed all blocks from the home page except for an Image block, a couple of Content blocks, and the "Back to Top" block (Home Page.jpg).
I deleted old versions, emptied Trash and cleared cache.
I also uninstalled MegaMenu, Accordion Content and a number of other packages.
Finally, I switched to the Elemental theme (Home Page2.jpg)
The result is exactly the same as before. I must conclude that something about the Back to Top block is incompatible with my setup.
I sympathise fully with package creators — it must be a nightmare trying to keep packages up-to-date in lockstep with changes in cr5 coding. So please understand I am not complaining. I'm just a frustrated non-coder trying to keep my own incipient site up-to-date. I'm wondering if there is any option available to me to have a functioning Back to Top button on my site.

If you are happy you have cleared or at least mitigated all the other potential errors then the only thing that appears to relate to the back to top bloc is an error regarding the handle used to trigger the event.
As mentioned, the functionality works for me when using locally but it may be worth trying something to see if you can get it to work for you...
I've updated some of the code in the back to top block and I can send you the files in a zip via PM.
If you could unzip the folder and then replace the fundamental_back_to_top folder in packages > fundamental > block then clear all your cace and give it a go. I can't make any promises as it's very difficult to diagnose an issue you can't actually see ;)

I am having some issues with the Back-to-Top button block as well.
I first placed it in the global footer and could not get it to work. Cleared browser and server cache. Still no luck.
I moved it out of global in the main block area and published the page.
Still could not get it to work.
When you save the page you will get
I can not delete the block off the page now. Any ideas what to do here? I have also tried resorting back to a older version of the page. Still there even after a cache clear.

Hi,
cleared cache, in c5 and browser, updated theme, cleared cache, in c5 and browser, same issue.
Can not save the page and can not delete the block either. Site is in maintenance mode if that helps troubleshooting.

OK, that's most odd - I would have expected the changes to the package would have resolved this.

Tried accessing the link you sent but can't get the site to load?
Might have been during our overnight backup. The server tends to run tad slow during that time and being you are in the UK...more thank likely was at that time. The site is loading. Please have another look. If you would rather me package it all up and shoot it over to you, please advise.

Great. Glad you got in. Remove the block? The client does not want it.
I am not able to hit delete on the block to remove that feature from the website.

Just deleted it. Worked first time.
I know you said you cleared you cache but still seems like ti may have been a cache issue after updating the package.
