[novice] design & type with Fundamental themeBrowser Info Environment
OK and here's the thing.
My home page has an option to select 7 different Page Templates and 4 pagetypes.
Any other page has only one page template - Blank.
In the system configuration I can see 4 pagetypes and 7 page templates.
But when I go to the Blank PageType Settings I can see only Blank Page Template assigned to it.
So I understand why all the pages have only one template but can't understand why the home page has all of them.???!!
1. Is this some kind of a bug? - I've tried 3x reinstalling the whole thing and always the same result.
2. Should I just assign all the templates to blank page to be able to use different templates? or create a separate page per template?
3. the homepage has main, main1, main2, main3 section. All the other pages not. Why is that and how can I add a page structured like that - or how can I add more main sections? - I found content.xml concrete5-cif file in the fundamental directory and here I can see main 1, main 2, main 3 for some pages so I assume that the home page has been build using this template. So why the quick start template contains pages which can't be created using his template afterwards?
The simple answer is that not all page templates work with all page types. The page type is the data model and the page template is the view layer.
For example, the blank page type is intended to be used to create your own layouts, to facilitate this it must use the blank page template as this is the file that contains the relevant code.
You are free to change the page type/page template pof any page from the sitemap dashboard page.
The homepage utitlises the page attribute 'Area Count' which effectively adds more areas so you can add multiple layouts and have ultimate flexibility in terms of page design. To use this, you need to use the blank page template for the page and then from the attributes panel choose 'Area Count' and add the number of areas you wish to use.
