Site wide Areas in footer areas

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Guys,

Completing the footer items today I note the areas are not Sitewide as they usually are in themes for obvious reasons.

Is this possible or is this something I have missed/can do another way please?

I also note the Copy to Clip board option is there to copy but not to paste!! Is this a C5 5.7 bug??

The choice to have sitewide areas is ultimately down to the preference of each theme. In this case, as it is currently impossible to create layouts with Global Areas we took the decision that creating non-global areas in the footer would make this more flexible from a presentational perspective. Afterall, if you need the same content in a footer area, you could create a stack, then set this stack as a default in a page type - that way it would be available every time you created a new page of that type.

Clipboard - this is not broke. Please read the concrete5 documentation on how to use this -http://documentation.concrete5.org/editors/in-page-editing/block-ar...

Would you be able to point to a link that shows details or instructions on setting stacks as a page default? I need a global footer and am not seeing how to do this yet.

thanks

I'm guessing there is no way to retroactively take this newly edited page default and apply it to all my pages is there? That would be great, keeping me from having to clipboard and layout every single one of my pages' footers.

thanks
