How do I stop the resizing action

Hi,
I really like this theme however there are some huge hiccups when the screen width is low enough to draw the select box that replaces the main menu.
For instance, blocks of several different types bleed out of their respective content areas
How can I:
- set min width for content areas?
- prevent the header-content sections at the top of the page from stacking on top of each other, maintaining their inline layout
- ultimately, or perhaps most easily, how do I stop the theme from resizing and always have it drawn @ 960px?
I know that it greatly defeats the point of this FREE theme to do this, but if the answer is easy, it is easy...
